Run for Our Children

Run For Our Children (RFC) is conceived to be an annual event, organized as a sustained effort to promote awareness and provide resources against Child Abuse.

As you might have known, children are increasingly suffering from a hidden epidemic of child abuse and neglect. Every year, thousands of defenseless children are victimized and because of social stigma and lack of awareness and knowledge, most of these abuses are hidden and unreported.

Preventing Child Abuse must begin by recognizing the issue and bringing it to the forefront. It requires a sustained effort in education and in providing support structure for all Child Abuse victims.

To that end, RunFor Our Children 2014 aims to:

• To raise public awareness of child abuse in Indonesia
• To educate the public, families and victims on how to handle issues of abuse
• To create support communities for victims of abuse

This year will be RFC first event and to set it apart from other distance run event of past, RFC 2014 will be held on 17 August 2014 with 3 unique races: 17K, 8K and 4.5K in commemoration of Indonesia’s Independence Day.

We hope on this historical day, we can create something historical. Together we can create a safe, fun and educational society for our future generations to grow up.
